9/28/02 - Our First Threesome
Carl McClain, Joseph Hendricks, and Jason Martin are the first trio of starters ever to win 20 games each (26, 21, 20
respectively) in a season for the Forfeit. McClain's 26 are a team record, and his 303.2 innings pitched were a
league record by a fair margin. Martin, at 35, still continues to win consistently. He has a very realistic shot
at 300 wins - he's at 255 now. Hendricks was the real surprise - we didn't see anything like this coming.
Also, Steve Browning had a 40/40 season in his rookie year. Three players cracked 50 steals. But Mack Hamilton
had a down year...bound to happen when he set the bar so damn high last year.
9/28/01 - 'Macking Them Around
Mack Hamilton has obliterated not only the team records, but the league records as well, with 75 HR, 197 RBI, a .789
SLG, and a 1.243 OPS. The last three are franchise marks.
6/17/88 - No No, I'll Get It
Jason Martin, a rookie with the Forfeit, has thrown a no-hitter. To my knowledge, this is the first in team history.
The victims were the LA Dodgerblue, and the score was 7-0.
