A team blog, as it were.

9/28/1933 - Snakebitten Again

Sammy Linscott, trying for his 30th win of the year on the last day of the regular season, threw a dud and fell short, against the 51s again.  This is the second year in a row the 51s have prevented the Snake from getting win #30 in the season finale.

8/16/1933 - A Loss?

Sammy Linscott, after starting the season 22-0, finally lost his first game of the year, against the Boston Red Stockings.  You think getting 30 wins is hard, try getting it without losing a game.  We still believe the Snake will get to 30 wins.

8/11/1933 - Crown Him Now

William Smith hit 4 HR and 10 RBI today against the Kansas City Monarchs.  Well, if anyone's gonna do it, it's him.  He looks to get his third straight MVP and fourth overall.

8/3/1933 - Your Prince Is In The House

William Smith belted home run #400 today.  I guess it helps to hit 60 a year.  He's off to his best year yet.

9/28/1932 - The Snake Falls Short

Sammy Linscott made a hell of a run at it, but the team he got his perfect game against is the one that screwed him out of getting his 30th win of the season.  Oh well, 29-3 is still a hell of a season, should win him the Cy Young, and does give him the JC single season win record.

9/13/1931 - Randy Is Dandy

Randy Seevers drove in his 1000th run against the Kansas City Monarchs, in this, his seventh year.  I would be surprised if he couldn't drive in a thousand more.

9/28/1930 - So Close, and Yet So Far

Randy Seevers has had a year for the ages, setting franchise and league records in several categories.  He should be a lock for the MVP - I don't even think the Fresh Prince can steal it away this year, and Smith tied the league RBI record.

But Seevers finished up the year with a .399 average, after spending much of it above the .400 mark.  A 1 for 5 outing in the last game doomed him - another hit would have got him that milestone.  Seevers did still set a league batting average record, and he's only 28, so he's just entering his prime.  Seevers has been over .380 three times, and he may very well get that .400 average, but it will have to wait another year.

4/13/1930 - The Perfect Cut

Sammy Linscott has thrown a perfect game.  It came against the Las Vegas 51s, W 12-0.  This is the first one I've been a part of in Worcester, or any of the other teams in my franchise.  In fact, it is only my franchise's fourth no-hitter.

Anyway, Sammy the Snake, as he has been dubbed, capped off his perfect game by striking out the side in the 9th.

If only Bernard Smith and Mark Taft could pitch like this...
